Each time a Wild triggers an upgrade, the lowest symbol in this chain is permanently removed for the rest of the bonus round and replaced by the next highest symbol. As a result, the average value of symbols on the reels increases.

Upgrading does not affect low-paying card symbols. It only applies to the higher-paying symbols shown on the upgrade track.
